We always ate on the main floor, and I was only in my mid 20s then. I never realized it was popular for hustlers, but I never went in the basement. Their fried chicken and fried green tomatoes are excellent and they have some great martinis. South City kitchen is one my fav places to eat at in Midtown. Kind of Ironic that I liked Gallus in the early 90s and now the people that run South City Kitchen run it. If it is I am going to check it out next time I am in Atlanta. It was in a nice older home, with the main floor being the restaurant and the basement being a bar frequented by an extraordinary number of local street hustlers and their prospective clients.The Gallus was the place, thanks!
